Holiday Wishlist Addendum

I JUST saw this dress linked to Corporette's post and I want to jump up and down in excitement.  I saw this dress this summer but decided not to buy it because I wasn't sure of the sizing or the price.  Now that it's on super duper sale, I'm going to have to let the Fiance know that I want this dress BAD.
It's an Old Navy shift dress that is super easy to individualize.  You could layer on a jacket or cardigan to make it office appropriate or wear a great statement necklace or brooch to make it evening special.  Also, if you find it a bit shapeless, a belt to accentuate your waist would definitely work.  Playing with different shoes and leggings would also be a fun way to make the dress your own.  Anybody have any other ideas?

I think this dress would look great under a cardigan or with a turtleneck under it and belted. It is one of those dresses though that could make someone who wasn't stick thin look like she was wearing a pup tent, though, so be careful with the proportions once you get it! :)

I'm a bit afraid of that, but on the other hand I'm sure I could get the waist taken in a smidge.

For the sale price, it would be well worth it!

I love how this girl worked two different colored shift dresses:

Since I'm assuming the weather is colder in your neck of the woods, you might consider a sweater blazer or a thick cardigan to avoid freezing.

Great links sfordinarygirl! And you're right---its cold over here so I definitely need to make good use of layering to wear this dress.

Recently I've turned crafty. Don't know why but it's just happened. I love fabric flowers so I started trying to figure out how to make them myself. The dress on your wishlist reminds me of this one http://www.teenvogue.com/style/tips/diy/2007/03/valentineleung_20070313?slide=1#slide=6 , which they embellished with a fabric flower. I made one in winter white for my friend this weekend and it was easy and turned out beautiful!

oOoOo Keri that's pretty! Completely wrong style of dress, but the idea is awesome!

If you're feeling crafty, here's another flower/ruffle project:

I'm going to try the ruffle t-shirt over break and may even try this corsage!
