Closet Shopping!

Yesterday, I went closet shopping.  In case you're not in the know, closet shopping is when you go into the depths of your closet, rummage around in boxes in the guest bedroom and come out with cool clothes that you can wear or re-purpose thus enlivening your wardrobe and saving money.  I found a few different things, one of which I am wearing today.

Once upon a time I used to wear halter tops.  In fact, I LOVED wearing halter tops.  Then my boobs grew and I could no longer wear them.  All my old halter tops ended up at the bottom of a box in the guest bedroom closet.  One of the halter tops is a really cute light purple sweater knit.  Through some inspiration from the Fiance who has a really cute sweater vest that I want to steal and A of Academichic in this post, I decided to try the halter on top of my white button down, and voila! I now have a purple sweater vest that cost $0!  *IF* I had ever worn it as a halter top, I have no idea when that was.  I don't even know where I got it from.
I felt really smart yesterday and today I feel super cute.  I am super proud that I was able to find an item of clothing that I wanted to try (a sweater vest) and didn't have to go shopping and spend $ in order to find it.  In fact, a few of the other items I found are things that I want.  Even the Fiance humored me enough last night to tell me that I had done a good job.

The Details:
White button down: Banana Republic Outlet
Dark Jeans: Old Navy The Dreamer fit
Brown boots: Etienne Aigner
Lavender Freshwater Pearls: Kathy
Earrings: Blue Nile
Purple halter / sweater vest: bottom of my closet / no idea when or where I got  it

***Don't forget, The Law School Fashionista & Clever Clip Giveaway ends on Friday!***
