So--graduation is coming up and I've been thinking of a couple different options on what to wear. My first option is linen pants, silk top, espadrilles and sparkly jewelry. I didn't intend on making it all pinks and grays, but that's what Polyvore had for me. The second option is spring dresses. At the moment I'm leaning towards option one. At some point in time I know that I'll have to walk on grass, so the wedge of an espadrille would be great. Also, I think pants + blouse is more flexible. I feel like I'll be able to use the pieces and outfit more often and in more varied situations. On the other hand, I'm not sure if the standard graduation wear is spring dresses. Considering we're graduation from law school, I think dresses may be more optional than for graduating from undergrad. But really, I'm not sure. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions on what I should wear or where I should shop?

I think you will be the only person wearing pants if you go with that look. Which, since you're a fashionista you might be ok with being different. But, everybody I've talked to has said they are wearing a dress, it's traditional and you know how traditional Wake is.
I think it would be better to wear a dress since you will be wearing a toga over it. Choose a dress with a more elegant cut since you are a lawyer now.
Jessica--thanks! I hadn't talked to anyone which is why I was wondering which to go with.
Leah--thanks! I appreciate the suggestion.
I'm with the other ladies on wearing a dress. Plus since you have to wear that oh so attractive robe over top...wearing pants could just be a whole lot of fabric.
I got my graduation dress at Target. Its from the Jean Paul Gaultier line. If you want something professional maybe try a sheath dress from J.Crew or Ann Taylor?
I love the dresses you picked in the last one!

I know I'm not graduating but I'm wearing a dress on Monday. Primarily because I think it will be cooler than pants.
I have no doubt that you will look cute either way :)
Keri and Jessica--What do you think about wearing pants to the reception after the hooding ceremony?
Law Girl--I was thinking of Ann Taylor too! And Talbots, they're cut more for curvier women than some others. Good job on finding a dress at Target. I looked but didn't have any luck.
Thanks Elaine!
I think pants for the Sunday reception would be fine. I'm still undecided on what i'm wearing of course. It will most likely be a last minute scramble for me.
