Happy New Year!

Myspace Glitter Graphics - http://www.sparklee.com

The Fiance and I didn't do anything special last night, but if we had, I wanted to show you all what I would have worn.  I did a quick wardrobe change and included jewelry to show The Fiance how cute my new dress is, took pictures and then changed back into sweat pants and a men's undershirt.  We then watched Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin on CNN and drank some Cava (Champagne made in Spain).  (P.S. I LOVE Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper on New Year's Eve, they're super funny.)  After my midnight kiss I grabbed the broom, a shoulder bag, Bella and ran outside.  You see, we have this ridiculous tradition where if you want to travel in the new year, you have to run around in the street on a broom after midnight on New Year's Eve.  I have done this on my own, with friends and with my parents at home, Spain and even Venice.  It sounds crazy, but its fun and has so far proven to work.  I'm pretty sure that I have traveled every year that I have run around on my broom.  The Fiance took a few pictures that I'll post later today.
So, the dress.  If you follow me on Twitter or see my Twitter updates, you may have seen that I was saddened on Tuesday evening when I hesitated in buying this dress.  I had gone to Ann Taylor Loft and seen this very dress and tried it on in a size 12P.  It fit well, but I wasn't 100% sure about it.  I looked online while I was at work and found the dress in a size 14.  I was thrilled!  I stupidly waited until I got home and the dress was no longer available online.  To say the least, I was way disappointed.  Wednesday morning I went again to the store to see if by chance they had a size 14.  The largest they had was still the 12P.  I tried it on again and bought it.  Aside from the triumph of buying a super cute dress, I was quite impressed by my sales shopping skills.  Originally at $79.50, the dress was on final sale for $19.99 reduced by 25%.  As in, I paid $16 including tax for an $80 dress.  (*happy dance*)
I also want to mention these shoes.  They are 4 inch satin stilettos that I've had for several years but seldom wear.  Essentially, they're my super dress up shoes.  I was able to convince "Santa" into buying them for me from DSW for a steal.  I don't remember how much was paid for them, but I'm guessing it was around $35 for some very expensive and very beautiful shoes.   What did you do for New Year's Eve?  What did you wear?  Warm and comfy or cute and glamorous?

I love to get all dressed up and go out on NYE, but since I'm on antibiotics and still not quite 100% we stayed in yesterday evening and played Scrabble and watched a movie.

Happy New Year! Are you ready for the shopping ban?

oh no! I hope you get to 100% soon. Glad you enjoyed your chill evening.

My shopping ban is ready. Need to write up a post for it, but I think I'm giving myself a couple exceptions that really aren't exceptions.

Happy New Year!
