Wrapped in a Blanket

Guys, so a few weeks ago eShakti.com approached me offering an item to review.  I've been drooling over their clothes since I first heard of them, so I said yes.  It took a while to figure out what I wanted. There are so many beautiful items to choose from that I had a really hard time to trying to decide.  I knew that whatever I got I wound want to wear to work, so it would have to be work appropriate and would need to work under a jacket.  Below are a few of my  favorite options.

I ended up choosing the Surplice Front Knit Shirtdress in Charcoal.  I wore it to work yesterday and from the very beginning I felt like I was wrapped in a blanket.  I was comfortable and warm all day long, it was great!
I knew from the second I chose this dress that I would want to pair it with burgundy tights.  So I chose to do that immediately.  Even though you can't tell the color, I promise those are burgundy tights.  To match the tights and incorporate the color elsewhere, I went with my burgundy/pink necklace as well.  To keep things from getting TOO matchy matchy, I went with a light blue tank.
This tank is actually really important.  I am grateful that I had the foresight to wear a tank under this dress.  I didn't realize when I ordered it that there wouldn't be a snap or button closure where the tank is.  I'm going to have to add that myself.  So to keep from flashing anyone, I wore the tank under the dress and had the surplice front open a bit more so it looked purposeful.  In the future I hope that a snap will keep things under control so that I won't always have to wear a tank, but will keep the option of the tank still viable.
And to be honest, that is my only complaint with this dress.  I wish that it had a snap and pockets, but neither is necessary and I'm pretty sure I can add one if not both on my own.  The fit is a dream as I gave my measurements when ordering.  If you're hard to fit or simply want something tailor made to you, I definitely recommend giving your measurements when you order.  And for $7.50 (free the first time you do it!), it really is worth it.  My order shipped quickly and got to me a good 5 days before I expected it.  So yea, I recommend eShakti.com, and I promise its because I love this dress and the service and not just because I got a free dress out of it.

Crafting!

Sometimes when I'm feeling restless I craft.  This past Saturday I did just that.  I used an old white t-shirt to create the brooch to the left.  It was a lot of fun and definitely met my crafting craving.  I told one of my new co-workers that I'm a crafter and she was really impressed when I showed her this broach Wednesday.  It just felt nice to get creative and unlike in the law, I had immediate results that I really really liked.

This broach also definitely worked to liven up this t-shirt.  My sister gave it to me a while ago and its a really comfy shirt.  But for work, I knew that I would have to add something, either a belt, a broach or a scarf to make it work in an outfit, especially in terms of keeping the attention from falling solely on my boobs.  So on Wednesday I chose my super awesome newly crafted broach.  If you look closely, the necklace I'm wearing is also crafted by me.
Oddly enough though, my favorite part of this outfit is my shoes.  I've had them for 3 years, but I haven't worn them in probably over a year.  I got on this pointy shoes hurt my feet thing and just didn't wear my pointy shoes.  So stupid of me.  I decided to give these heels another try and I felt stupid for avoiding them because they're pointy.  Yes, for the most part almond toe shoes are more comfortable than pointy toed heels, but that doesn't necessarily mean that pointy is bad.  Which means that I didn't notice the pointiness on Wednesday.  Granted, it helped that instead of my usual 3 inch heels these are only 1.5 inches high, but still.  These heels are definitely going to be part of my regular rotation of heels from now on.

Summer Layering

We all know how awesome layering can be when its cold.  Layering provides warmth and can include different colors, textures and patterns to make outfits more interesting.  What often happens is that when it gets warmer, layering goes out the window.  While its often cooler to wear one skimpy layer during the summer, sometimes outfits require layers.
Yesterday's outfit most definitely required an extra layer.  There is too much boobage for me to wear this polo without a layer under it.  In an ideal world I would have an unlimited closet which would include crop tops in all colors of the rainbow so that layering in the summer would only require 2 layers of clothing  where necessary and not all over.  However, we don't live in my ideal world (damnit!) so I had to wear a full tank top under this light pink polo.  It wasn't too bad for most of the day.  In fact, while at school the extra layer was quite welcome since its so cold inside.  However, once some friends and I were out studying on the quad, I had no choice but to take the polo off and just sit in my tank and skirt.
So in review, layering in the summer can create warmth in the frigid cold inside and can keep your decolletage from getting out of control.

Yoga day!

Yesterday was yoga day and as such I had two different outfits.  The first was my cute class day outfit and the second was my yoga class outfit.  You may remember seeing this dress before.  I absolutely LOVE it.  It is so comfortable!  The jersey is heavy enough so that I don't have to wear a slip with it and the neckline is such that I can change the look of the dress by changing the color tank top I wear with it.  Have I mentioned that the length of the dress is pretty damn awesome too?  LOVE this dress.

As for yoga wear, I am much more practical than I am cute.  I've been wearing yoga pants and men's undershirts to class and it has worked out great.  The best part, honestly, is the part you can't see.  If you guessed sports bra, then you guessed right.  Ever since I got this Bravissimo sports bra I've been a whole lot more excited about working out than I have in the past.  With the girls not bouncing around or popping out from under a too loose sports bra or spilling out over a too tight one, working out is much more comfortable.  It makes a huge difference.
I'm sure that for ladies with much smaller breasts a sports bra is just as important.  The difference, though is that sports bras, and bras in general for that matter, for the smaller boobed are more readily available and cheaper than those I've been able to find in my size.  At the very least, I'm able to afford these expensive bras, but I wonder about other women who aren't so fortunate.  How do they handle F,G,H, or I cups when they can't afford $55 bras?  It's not like they're readily available at Walmart or Target.  In fact, I've never found anything more than a DD at either store, and even then it was in limited band sizes.
I guess I'm just frustrated with the lack of availability of larger bras.  Coupled with the great expense of bras when they are found and I'm just pissed.  I mean, why do stores insist on charging more for bigger bras and bigger clothing?  It's not like its THAT much more expensive to make a larger bra or a larger shirt or a larger pair of pants, right?  So why are they SOOOO much more expensive?
Sorry to rant at you, it's just frustrating and nonsensical.

Two in One!

Last Wednesday I got up at my normal time and thought, "I'll wear that skirt I made and feel cute all day.  And hey! cute hair!" So I got up, got dressed, headed to school and survived my Secured Transactions class.  (it was touch and go there for a while)  Then at around 11 am I got an email basically saying, "Would you mind interviewing today?  How about 4 pm?"  So I got really excited, flustered and nervous in the span of 15 seconds.  Then I ran home to steam my suit, steam my blouse, do my hair and makeup, eat, and run back to school for another 2 classes before my interview.  (Mind you, I was half-freaking out the entire time).
See? Happy girl blind to craziness of the day
My interview turned out really really well.  Still no word yet, but I've got my fingers crossed.  I think my mom, grandmother and aunt all have candles lit too.  So, send good vibes, k?  Anyway, I'm going to take advantage of the fact that I had no choice but to suit up and change outfits to show you all my interview suit.  I got this suit the Christmas break of my first year of law school, so December 2007.  My parents made it part of my Christmas gift since Spring of your first year is the first time you can interview with possible future employers.
At the time we were in Puerto Rico so we headed down to Macy's in San Juan where there were TONS of suits on sale.  I think I tried on 30 different suits.  I was looking for a dark colored skirt suit on the belief that in order to interview for law jobs you have to wear a skirt suit.  I got lucky and found this beautiful navy blue pinstripe suit by Nine West.  I was initially concerned that the jacket would be too tight, but despite my boobs having grown since then, the jacket still fits.  It was on sale and originally included a tank top-like blouse.  I have since given that top away because even when I bought it, the girls just didn't want to be trapped in it.  It was pretty sad since it was a dark blue with light pink polka dots.
I have since gone with this more classic and covered up white button down with very thin black pinstripes.  It has a more put together and professional feel.  Which is probably why anytime I put this suit on I feel confident.  I am suddenly "on," which by the way reminds me a lot of how Batman is just Bruce Wayne until he puts on the batsuit.   Add my pearls, hose and heels and I'm super-attorney-wannabe. New super hero?  I think so!

HAD to include this one--I look tough, right?

Spring!

Yesterday was a beautiful Spring day.  I am so happy Spring is finally here! The weather is warm and its consistently sunny.  Also, I can wear dresses without tights!!!  Like this one.  I got this dress in January before my shopping ban went into effect.  It is from Bravissimo, and for the most part I love it.  In fact, I love the dress itself, my complaint is really with Bravissimo for not providing measurements withe their sizes.  Had they done so, I wouldn't have bought a dress that was too big.  Unfortunately, because Bravissimo is based in the U.K., international shipping is rather expensive.  So I decided not to try to return the dress for a smaller size.  I'm going to try to wash it to see if maybe that will shrink it a bit.  Otherwise, the dress is beautiful.  It's cut to give ample room in the bust and not expose the girls for all to see.  I absolutely love the print of the dress too.  It is a light blue cotton overlay with transparent fans that show through the white cotton underlay.
Even though the weather is down right heavenly right now, it still gets a bit chilly in the shade and downright cold in certain classrooms.  So rather than risking frostbite in a sleeveless dress, I figured I would just layer a cardigan over the dress.  The problem was choosing the cardigan.  My mom gave me this cardigan last summer when we visited in Puerto Rico.  Its my favorite shade of chocolate brown, but it is NOT my favorite shape.  It's both too big and too boxy to be as short as it is.  So up until now the cardigan has just been chilling in my closet waiting to be worn.  UNTIL I saw this post by Sally of Already Pretty.  It gave me the idea to cinch the cardigan in the back with a brooch.  And it worked!  I even got compliments on it!  The cardigan was a lot less boxy with the brooch and I got an added bonus of adding some sparkle to my outfit.

So it seems that my DIYed skirt from yesterday was rather popular.  Would you all like me to do a tutorial to show you how to turn a pair of jeans into a skirt?

Capsule Wardrobe Challenge Day 2

So its been a while since I wore this outfit and even longer since I came up with it.  But that's the nature of the game.  I've had this button down for several years and I almost never wear it.  The reason is that like most button downs that fit my boobs, the rest of the shirt tents out.  It makes me look enormous.  So, to fix this, I belted the shirt.  I'm glad I did too.  I really like the shirt, its a blue, white and black stripes, but like I said, the fit is terrible.  Even with the belt, its still felt a bit tent-y.  Hoping to cancel out the tent-i-ness I wore fitted jeans.  Looking back at the pictures, I probably should have gone with wider jeans to balance out my larger top half.  Guess I know that for next time.
As you can see from the pics, it snowed last week.  Tuesday I took advantage of the allowed Capsule Wardrobe Challenge winter jacket to keep me warm.  Without it I would have been very cold.  (Contrary to what you may think, it generally does not snow a lot here.  This year its snowed about 8 times.  In all the previous 7 years I've lived here, its snowed at most 3 times in any one winter. So the winter jacket was much appreciated.)

Eureka!

So, even though I'm not shopping at the moment, or anytime in the near future, I got really excited when I stumbled upon MyShape.  MyShape is a website where you enter your measurements and they tell you what body shape you are.  But that's not all dear readers!  In addition to telling you what shape you are, the site will also shop for you.  It uses the measurements you put in to find clothes that will *ACTUALLY* fit your body.
I don't know about you, but this is a godsend.  You see, even though I like clothes and style and stuff, I HATE going shopping.  My ginormous boobs, among other things, make things very difficult.  So Sunday I measured myself in a bra and undies.  I inserted 21 of the 29 measurements they ask for.  (If I had had a willing measuring buddy, I would have done all 29 measurements.  Alas, none of the furbabies have thumbs and The Fiance wasn't exactly willing to help.)  Luckily, you don't need all 29 measurements in order for them to give you a body shape.  In fact, I'm pretty sure you only need a few measurements of the essential 15 located on the left side.    Anyway, so I measured and got the body shape of M.  (That's what I guessed I would be beforehand).   Then I did a little survey where I chose the types of clothes I like and the fits I prefer.
Then the fun begins.  Once you have gone through all of the measuring and surveying, you get to see what clothes matches your style AND they've done the hard work for you by figuring out what size to get in the chosen garments in the Apparel section.  In addition, there's a section called Browse Outfits where they've taken pieces from the aforementioned Apparel section and put them together in outfits for you.  You want to know what made me REALLY happy?  It was that I found that several things that are already in my closet were similar to what was on their shopping list for me.  Turns out I'm not *that* far off.  :)
So for all you lovely ladies struggling with how to classify your body shape and then figuring out what would look best on your body shape and size, this site is definitely for you.  And for you lovely ladies who know what you've got and rock it already, I still recommend it as it might open your eyes to new outfit possibilities.  And really, who doesn't want a personal shopper?

Out of Bounds

I bought this dress in January right before the semester and my shopping ban started.  Its a HUGE detour from what I normally buy.  Its a very dark shiny pink number with petals on the neckline.  I'm more a fan of simple plain things.  But since the dress was on sale at Ann Taylor LOFT, I figured I could buy it, take it home and see if I could make outfits with things already in my closet.  So I did and decided to keep the dress.  But as you can see by looking though the blog, I haven't worn it yet.  Until a couple of Fridays ago. . .
I'm not sure why, but the dress spoke to me that day.  And of course I listened.  Being a sleeveless dress, I knew I had to wear a cardigan or blazer to make it winter office appropriate.  My trusty blue cardigan was perfect.  And since I already had some blue in the outfit, I layered a blue tank under the dress to avoid exposing too much cleavage.  In hindsight, I probably should have added some form of necklace.  But that morning I was hurried and couldn't think of anything to go with it.  Also, would a necklace take away from the petals?  So I chose to add earrings instead.
Unfortunately, this was the last wearing of my favorite gray tights.  I snagged them on the desk at work that day and they ran.  Like a huge run up and down my left leg.  It was very sad to throw them away, but I hope to replace them sometime soon.  Do you feel sad too when you have to say goodbye to beloved pieces of your wardrobe?

Kinda Mod

Sometime last week I decided to wear this dress and try to make it look different than the last time I wore it. I think I achieved my goal. I layered a skin-tight black long sleeved shirt under the dress as well as black tights and boots. I think I dressed it up pretty well. In fact, one of my professors asked me if I dressed up for work that day. She then told me that if I wanted to, with a sweater or blazer, my outfit would be office appropriate. So yay for me!
When I first put the outfit together I was kind of afraid of the lumpiness and curviness. As you can see, you can't really hide a whole lot in a bright green fitted sheath dress. I was afraid that the belt would highlight my tummy pooch and make my boobs look enormous and . . . In the end though, I ended up feeling really comfortable all day long and didn't really worry about the lumps and bumps.
I added the Bravissimo trench to the dress so I could brave the elements. I have really grown to love how the trench itself as an outfit piece. I love how the cut creates an illusion of a much smaller waist and that the "skirt" of the coat is so swingy. It reminds me a lot of the 50's and how different proportions can create the most amazing illusions. If it buttoned a bit lower I might risk wearing the trench as a dress, but as it is, I would be exposing myself a whole bunch if I did that and that's not a risk I'm willing to take.

How do you face your body issues when you get dressed?  Sometimes I suck it up, like on this day, and wear whatever I want regardless.  Other days, when I'm not feeling quite so confident, I cover up in great big sweats.  Which do you prefer?  If you do both, what makes you decide?  Do you think there's another way?

Keeping me honest

I want to give you all an update on the status of my resolutions/goals.  I did buy the Reebok tone your butt shoes, and they are awesome.  I have no idea if they’re actually toning my butt and legs, BUT they are making it easier for me to walk for longer.  I’m not sure why or how, but when I wear them on the treadmill I can go significantly longer and faster than if I wear just normal tennis shoes.  It’s quite awesome.  For example, Friday night I put on my super cool shoes and did an hour on the treadmill for 2.5 miles.  In comparison, without the shoes I tend to do 20-30 minutes or however long it takes me to get to one mile.  Even though I’ve only had the shoes for 3 weeks, I feel that they’re definitely worth the $110 I paid for them.  Yes, they’re the most expensive shoes I own, in fact probably the most expensive things in my closet right now, BUT if they’re going to make it easier for me to work out and to work out for longer periods of time, then its money well spent.
Aside from the super cool shoes making me walk more, I am being proactive about my sitting on my butt time.  As the photo below suggests, I will be sitting on my workout bouncy ball (at least some of the time) when I watch tv with The Fiancé.  My theory is that it’s a really easy way to increase core strength and improve my posture.  Plus, bouncing is easy and probably burns some calories.  I need all of this if I’m going to be in a wedding dress sometime in the near future and living with my big boobs without pain.
Oddly enough, Friday night The Fiancé found a BBC special on UK women living with big boobs.  One of the women profiled was a mom who measured 39 inches at her bust with a 32G (I think).  Her plan was to work out in hopes of reducing her overall fat but also to reduce her boob fat.  I know it depends on body type and how your body eliminates fat when you work out, but it’s not a bad way to approach your boobs.  Even though reducing my boobage isn’t a main purpose for my working out, at the very least, I’m hoping that by working out I’ll be able to strengthen my back and core so that my boobs won’t continue to be a pain in my back.
Of course, working out isn’t the only thing required for me to live healthier.  A big part is food intake.  This past week has been miserable.  Because I’ve been taking The Fiancé to and from work, I’ve also been taking him fast food for lunch.  So I’ve been eating it too.  Normally I don’t eat fast food every day several days in a row, so it made me feel icky.  Luckily I was able to cook yummy veggie intensive dinners to balance out the other stuff.  Cooking has definitely made a difference in living healthy.  First off, I feel like I’m in control of the process.   Second, I can control the amount of oils and fats that go into food as well as making sure that there’s at least one grain and one veggie on the plate.  I’m also eating breakfast and drinking lots of water.
I know I’m not perfect and that I should probably cut soda out of my diet.  The thing is that even though I want to live healthy and lose weight, I also want to do it in a positive and sustainable way.  I know very well that I’m not a gym rat, so signing up for a gym membership would just be a waste of money.  I also know that I like Coke WAY too much to give it up entirely.  So rather than go to extremes just to set myself up for failure, I’m creating a healthy way of life for myself (and The Fiancé) that is sustainable and I can easily stick with for a long time.
How do you approach big goals like weight loss?  Is there anything in particular that keeps you motivated a few weeks in?

Bravissimo!

Remember way back when I said I was looking to get this coat? Well it's here! And I love it! In case you're not aware, Bravissimo is a UK based store and site that sells clothing for women that have big boobs. In other words, they noticed that women with big boobs weren't always plus sized and have made clothes in a range of sizes (8-18) that are based on your waist measurements but then add in extra room for boobage. Why no one came up with this before is beyond me, but I am THRILLED to have found it. The only downsides I see with it are 1. International shipping and 2. Lack of specificity in sizing guide. Otherwise, from the concept to the website to the clothing items, I am ecstatic (as you can tell by the pictures).
Since it snowed here on Friday evening and all day Saturday, figuring out what to wear on Monday centered around being warm and dry. So I went with my rain boots and new Bravissimo coat. When it came to choosing the rain boots I knew I wanted to be happy on icky days so I went with leopard print, which regardless of the situation, would always make me smile. As for the coat, I went with something a wee bit more traditional. Since I already have a black trench coat, and since gray is slowly becoming my favorite neutral, gray just seemed like the perfect color. The coat itself is really great, it's cut with ample room for my boobs (I got a Super Curvy) and nips back in at the waist. The best part of the coat (and Bravissimo in general) is that I can have clothes that fit my WHOLE body and not just the biggest parts of me. *happy dance*
As for the other clothes, jeans and a black long sleeved tee were the exact no fuss outfit I wanted. I was warm and comfy all day long. I added the blue pashmina for color and I'm SO glad I did. In the middle of my 3-5:50 pm class I was freezing so I ended up wrapping the pashmina around myself like in the picture to the left.   It helped tons! In fact, at one point I was so cold I put my coat on too.

Dress For Success (Part 3)

So the next model is yours truly.  I was put in a brown skirt suit with a pink button down.  The major flaw with this outfit is that it truly did not fit.  The skirt was WAY too long, the jacket was too big, and the button down was too small.  It looked like I was playing dress up.   Had I been able to shop for my own clothes and tried things on, I'm sure it would have worked out, but I didn't have that luxury.  So my recommendation is ALWAYS TRY THINGS ON!!!  If it doesn't fit, its better to find out in the store than on the morning of an important interview or event.
Assuming I had been able to try things on, I probably would have gone with a smaller sized skirt making it a high waisted pencil skirt.  This would have fixed the length issue, at least somewhat anyway.  As for the jacket, I would have tried on a size smaller and compared the two.  Regardless of which size jacket, I would have to get the sleeves shortened as I have short arms.  As for the button down, there is no remedy other than going up a size.  And even if the shirt fit, I would have a tailor put a pair of snaps between buttons to ensure that there is no gaping.  All of my button downs have these snaps even though they fit.  The reason is that I know that I'll be confident wearing a shirt that just won't gap, ever.
The really cool thing about this suit is that it is machine washable.  The saleswoman that came with the clothes told us that the suits really are machine washable and they turn out nicely.  So next time I need a suit, I may just go to Dillard's and try one of these on.  Also, I peaked at the price tag, and they're not terribly expensive (as suits go anyway).  If I remember correctly, I think the skirt + jacket would run about $250.
A seriously surprising thing was that the panelists were perfectly ok with my dark blue nail polish.  In fact, they didn't even notice it until I pointed it out.  They explained that because of my coloring (ie dark hair, light skin) dark nails didn't draw their attention.  In fact, the female attorney thought it was pretty cool that I was so trendy and could take advantage of that because of my coloring.  What is most remarkable is that The Judge had explained about 5 minutes prior to my modeling that no one should EVER wear black nail polish and then said that my nails were perfectly ok.  That being said, regardless of your coloring or trendiness, do not wear dark colored nail polish to an interview.  Even red might be too much.  I'm a big fan of nude or very light pink nail polish on myself.  This means wearing nail polish that matches your nails so that its not obvious you're wearing it.  The reasoning is this: if you talk with your hands, doing so talking with  with dark nail polish on can get distracting.  Also, wouldn't you question the judgment of someone who came to an interview wearing dark nail polish?  Even though I would think they were trendy or an individual, I also know that because an interview is a formal event, I would definitely question the interviewee's judgment.
The subject of my hair didn't come up, but the general words of wisdom from the panelists were to keep your hair out of your face so that the interviewer can look in your eyes and you don't look like a cyclops.  Personally, I tend to wear my hair straight or in a bun or french twist for interviews or other important career type events, but I keep my bangs out of the updo and carefully pin them back in a side sweep.  I do it to keep it all under control and look polished but to make sure that my face isn't completely bare.  I'm not a fan of keeping my face bare of my bangs when its up because I feel like it looks like I'm about to go running, but that's just personal preference.
How do you feel about showing some individuality in an interview?  Better to express yourself subtly, loudly, or not at all?

Blending In

On gray rainy days you can either wear something bright to fight against the gloom like Tania of What Would a Nerd Wear or blend in, like I chose to yesterday.  For whatever reason, I've been loving gray as of late.  It just feels so much softer and less harsh than black, and since I haven't seen the sun since August, less harsh is good.  Also, I've been dying to wear this dress to school, but I couldn't figure out a way to wear it so that it wasn't too dressy or where I wasn't freezing.  My knee high boots and a dark pink tank were the perfect way to keep the dress from getting too dressy.  The dark pink tank just happened to match the flowers on the dress perfectly.  I was afraid that the built in bra in the tank would bug me since I didn't have time to cut it out of the tank yesterday morning, but I was lucky enough that it didn't.  I will, however have to remove the built in bra.  I get that for some women they work, but in order for me to wear a tank w/a built in bra, the tank ends up either almost not covering or entirely not covering the girls, which completely defeats the purpose of the tank.  For yesterday I just pulled it up so that the elastic was mid-boob and went on with my day.  I wouldn't recommend this with most outfits as its pretty obvious when you cut your boobs in half with elastic, but because I had 2 layers on top of the tank, I felt ok with it.
This blue cardigan rocked in keeping me warm.  I hadn't realized it until I took it off yesterday, but this cardigan is 100% wool.  From Target!  And I got lucky enough that I found it for $8 last time I was allowed to shop (ie ~3 weeks ago).  If I had known it was 100% wool when I bought it, I definitely would have looked and looked to see if I could have found more of them in different colors.  But its ok, I'm just glad to have added such a nice cardigan in a color that isn't black or white to my closet.
I just wanted to include this last picture because 1. its cute and 2. it allows me to explain some how I take pictures.  I've mentioned before that I take outfit pictures by putting my camera on a tripod, setting the timer, then posing.  Well, before I even get to that step, I always take a test shot to make sure there's enough light for picture taking.  Well, yesterday while doing my test picture, Luna and Bella decided to get in on the action and peer out our glass front door.  Aren't they precious?

More Jewel Tones

I wore this outfit last week and just didn't finish up writing the post.  This outfit is way more casual than I've been wearing for a while.  I got these burgundy corduroys several years ago.  They had originally been hemmed for me to wear with flats.  I had them taken out so I could wear them with heels.  Unfortunately, they're still super short, so wearing them with heels is a bit odd looking.  I can definitely still wear them with flats or short heels.
Sad to say, this will probably be the last post for this shirt.  Even though I love it and its different, its just not working for me.  The front of the top has a double layer of fabric.  This wouldn't be so bad if the double layer went all the way down under my boobs.  But that's not the case.  The line dissects my boobs.  And I hate it.  I spent the whole day fidgeting with the top trying to get the line lower, but in doing that exposed cleavage.  All in all, its just not worth it.  I would try to cut the layer out, but I'm pretty sure all I would accomplish is messing up a cute top.  I'm going to just give the top to one of my friends who is less boobed than me.
Speaking of problems with boobs, the coat that I'm wearing in the picture to the right is a godsend.  I got it while in Puerto Rico a few years ago and was thrilled to find that it actually fit my boobs.  In fact, the coat STILL fits my boobs which have grown some since I bought the coat.  AND I can layer sweaters and scarves under it too!  Great buys rock.

New Year's Eve Day

I had to run some errands earlier today and of course I wanted to wear some of the things I bought yesterday.  Oh yea, forgot to tell you all, I went shopping yesterday.  I bought 5 dresses and 2 cardigans for about $100.  Yes, 7 lovely items for about $100 when at full price everything would have been about $375.  I kid you not.  I got very lucky in that I was able to find very cute stuff on super duper final sale.  I'll make sure to show you what I got soon, but I may not be wearing any of it for a while since next week I plan on staying in my pjs and not leaving my house.  I LOVE vacation!
So this dress I got at a Hanes outlet.  There happens to be a Hanes outlet across the street from where I work.  Unfortunately they don't carry my bra size, but they do carry the "Just My Size" brand.  This is meant for plus size women.  For the most part, the clothes doesn't work for me because designers tend to believe that women with big boobs also are also large everywhere else.  As a result plus size clothing is built like tents that fit at the boobs and then go out from there.  That does not work for me.  I have a waist and plan on showing it.  Surprisingly, I was able to find this dress that fit me and showed that I have a waist.  I liked it so much that I got it in heather red and black.  My favorite part is that its not plain, but has a flower garden at the bottom of the skirt.  SO cute.  The astonishing part is the price.  It was $5.  Not a typo, yes FIVE DOLLARS.  It was on sale for $9.99 and they were running a special so that everything was an additional 50% off making it $5.  See what I mean about being lucky?  How have you done with post-Christmas/year-end sales?
